Sync Android devices with your Mac
Samsung Kies for Mac is Samsung's official tool for Android based devices which allows you to manage music and videos. If you have both a Mac and a Samsung Android device, it's pretty much an essential application.
Syncs with Outlook and updates Firmware
Apart from syncing, Samsung Kies for Mac also allows you to receive and install Firmware updates for your Samsung mobile and is regularly updated to be compatible with the latest Samsung mobile releases. Most importantly, Samsung Kies for Mac works for transferring and managing contacts and calendar events between your mobile device and Mac.
If you're a Microsoft Office user, Samsung Kies also allows you to synchronize your Microsoft Outlook content on your computer with a Samsung mobile device. It's also very useful as a backup solution because it can backup data localized on mobile device including bookmarks, settings (such as general settings, Wi-Fi lists) alarms, contacts, music, videos, or photos. Note that it does not backup DRM protected multimedia.
Expect bugs when syncing
Unfortunately, many users report mixed experiences when trying to connect Android devices to their Mac using Smasung Kies. Some find that it can't establish a connection for example while others find that folders and photos are either not synced properly or missing. However, version 2.0 has fixed some of these bugs plus introduced support for Mountain Lion.
Useful for Android owners but buggy
Samsung Kies is a useful tool for any Mac user with Samsung Android devices although you may experience bugs or connection issues with some devices.

Looses all photo dates when you try to transfer phones - ouch!.
I didn't finish using it because when i tried a couple years ago, it hijacked all the photo dates and made them the exact date and time that I was USING IT! I.e.: It lost the creation dates of a little over 1800 photos taken over many months, ouch! I needed those photos with their dates. When I abandoned it for the near useless AFT (Android File Transfer,) and tried to remove it from that mac, I was NEVER able to have AFT recognize my phone again, all other macs in the house with AFT - that haven't had the 'plague of a Kies installation" - open AFT upon plug in. AFT is a problem for other reasons, I'm looking into AirDroid, a 3rd party app, and had a degree of success taking the old phone to T-Mobile and having them use their "Cell Bright" hardware to transfer most of my stuff over. - it too lost all the photo dates btw, but brought over contacts, etc. I don't know if other carriers have that equipment, it took a long time to transfer my stuff too. And, Visual voice mail didn't work.I don't know too much about that transfer either because I abandoned the replacement phone (this whole review is w.r.t. exchanging a phone) because IT DIDN'T WORK, could make calles or text, Yahoo!? ...no.Solution of course would be to get an iPhone. A very poor, unrealiable program..
Poor. More often than not, my S3 is not detected by my Mac. It also tends to hang. This is a very poor program. If I knew it would be this bad, I never would have bought a Samsung phone.
Pros:
Nothing.
Cons:
Reliability, speed. It does not more with my Mac more than 60% of the time. More

For Mac owners who also uses Samsung smartphones.
If you are using Samsung and Mac, go and download WiFi File Transfer from Google Play. It is great for files transfer - completely hassle-free and fast. You need wifi though. More
